Reviews

What owners and reviewers say

independent video reviews on this page

Reviewers praise its resolution and its wide, deep, holographic stage, and Headfonics calls it the strongest midrange in the MEST line. The honest caveats: it is very sensitive to ear tips, the nozzle is fairly wide, and some reviewers expected more slam at this price.

What they love

Excellent resolution and quiet micro-detail (headphones.com)
Wide, deep, holographic stage with precise imaging (IEMRanking)
The most natural vocals in the MEST range (Headfonics)
Non-fatiguing upper mids and treble

Worth knowing

Very tip-dependent: try every tip in the box, and foam-like tips such as AZLA work well
The 6 mm nozzle may feel wide in smaller ears
Bass impact is refined rather than hard-hitting

Summarised from headphones.com, IEMRanking, Headfonics.

FAQ

Your questions, answered

Universal or Custom Fit: which should I choose?

Universal Fit arrives fast and uses ear tips. Custom Fit is moulded to your ears: it solves the tip sensitivity reviewers mention and gives the bone-conduction driver the best contact.

Does the bone-conduction driver make a difference?

It adds a subtle sense of depth and texture rather than a separate sound, and you notice it most with a deep, sealed fit or in the Custom Fit version.

MEST MKIII CF or MEST MKII?

MKIII CF is more balanced, with better mids and softer treble. MKII has more sub-bass and sparkle. Similar technical level, different character.

Do I need an amplifier?

No. A good dongle or music player is enough; a neutral, balanced 4.4 mm source suits it best.

How does ordering a Custom Fit work?

Choose Custom Fit and order. We email our ear-impression guide, a local audiologist takes the impressions (usually charged separately), you send them in, and your monitors arrive by DHL Express in about 3 weeks. Not right? We arrange a free refit.

How fast is delivery?

Sold on pre-order. Universal Fit is delivered by DHL Express within 5 working days. Custom Fit takes about 3 weeks once we have your ear impressions.

What warranty and returns do I get?

A 2-year BOLLSEN warranty handled by our UK & EU team. Universal Fit can be returned within 14 days with the hygiene seal unbroken. Custom Fit is made for your ears, so instead of a change-of-mind return you get a free refit. Your statutory rights are not affected.
