The sound
Deep bass, clear voices, one driver.
Your first pair of hand-made in-ear monitors: warm, deep bass, clear mids and a faceplate painted by hand.
BOLLSEN sound map, summarised from independent reviews.
Maybe not for you if you are sensitive to lively upper treble or want the most air and detail; the 3DT gives a wider, more detailed stage, and the 2HT plugs straight into a 3.5 mm socket.
Inside Unique Melody

- 03Blue resin shell: light & compactAn ergonomic shape that sits snugly, even in smaller ears.
- 044-core copper cable, 4.4 mm balancedDetachable 2-pin cable with a 4.4 mm plug for players and dongle DACs.

Reviews
What owners and reviewers say
independent video reviews on this page
Reviewers agree From The Start punches above its price with deep, textured bass and clear, natural vocals, and Japanese blogger Yuzlih recommends it with confidence as a first step into high-end listening. PhD-In-Ear Reviews flags the main caveat: an elevated lower treble that can turn sharp, with the top-most air rolling off.
What they love
- Textured bass with real depth and no bleed into the mids (PhD-In-Ear)
- Male & female vocals clean and slightly forward (PhD-In-Ear)
- Deep, weighty lows without boom or bloat (Yuzlih)
- Natural one-driver sound, no multi-driver clutter (Yuzlih)
Worth knowing
- Lively lower treble can bite; the very top air rolls off
- Layering is average and imaging a little loose
- 4.4 mm cable only: phones need a small dongle DAC
Summarised from PhD-In-Ear Reviews (written review notes), Yuzlih@.Crafter on note (Japanese).

3DTFAQ
Your questions, answered
How does it compare with far pricier IEMs?
PhD-In-Ear Reviews found flagship sets ahead on stage, layering & air, but rated its bass, mids & vocals ahead of many single-driver rivals at its price.
Is the treble harsh?
Mostly not, but the lower treble is lively. PhD-In-Ear Reviews heard occasional sharpness or sibilance on some tracks, while Yuzlih found the highs solid, with only slight roughness at the very top.
Can I use it with my phone?
It comes with a 4.4 mm balanced plug, which phones do not have. Use a small 4.4 mm dongle DAC between phone and cable, or ask us which one suits you.
Is every pair different?
Yes. The faceplates are painted by hand, so the swirl on your pair will differ slightly from the photos.
From The Start or 2HT?
From The Start is the simplest, one dynamic driver with a warm tuning. The 2HT adds a balanced armature for extra detail and has a 3.5 mm plug.
Which ear tips should I use?
Try every size in the box before judging the sound. The right tip sits snugly without pressure, and that is when the bass fills in and the treble settles.
How fast is delivery?
Delivered by DHL Express in 5–7 working days.
What warranty and returns do I get?
A 2-year BOLLSEN warranty handled by our UK & EU team. Returns within 14 days with the hygiene seal unbroken. Your statutory rights are not affected.
