Partner’s snoring (~60dB) had us sleeping in separate rooms for months. After 3 nights with Bollsen, we’re back in the same bed. Now 8 weeks together and sleeping better than ever.

Test Winner Against Snoring, Street Noise and Ticking Clock

After over 1,700 tests, an independent laboratory in Germany has confirmed that Life+ reduces the surrounding noise by an average of 24 dB.  This way, your ears will take a well-deserved break at night – which benefits your hearing and provides a good night’s sleep.

The professional noise reduction is also effective against:
  • A snoring partner or your own snoring;
  • Ticking clocks, dripping water taps or noises from upstairs neighbours;
  • Disturbances from other neighbours or roadworks;
  • Different noise levels in hotels, hospitals or retirement homes.

The Best Alternative to other Expensive Gadgets

Sits Softly and Comfortably in Your Ears

We are usually very active during the night. And the earplugs move with us: The soft hypoallergenic silicone adapts to your body. The 2-lamellae design is based on the natural shape of the ear canal. Once they are in your ears, they fill even the smallest corners of your ear canals. This way, they always fit perfectly – so comfortable that you almost forget you are wearing them.

Sweet Dreams, even for side sleepers

Traditional earplugs for sleeping stick out of your ears. This makes lying on your side impossible. That is why we have developed our Life+ earplugs: The conical-shaped hearing protection completely disappears in your ears, which allows you to get a good night’s sleep in your favourite position. A small tab is enough to remove the earplugs in the morning.

You are still able to hear your alarm

Life+ takes 24 dB off the room. It does not seal it out. Snoring and traffic drop to a murmur, but an alarm clock, a smoke detector or a crying baby starts far louder than either, so it still gets through. That is a matter of how loud those sounds are, not of the earplug choosing which ones to pass.

AI Online Ear Measurement Service (AR KI Tech®)

Well-fitting earplugs cost normally hundreds of pounds. But BOLLSEN Life+ earplugs are an alternative to custom otoplasty from audiologists: Thanks to the conical 2-lamellae design, the earplugs perfectly adapt to your ears, regardless of their shape. The soft silicone adapts to your ear canal and they feel custom-made at a fraction of the effort and price.

For middle-sized ears: The standard version

Our standard version is designed for medium-sized ear canals. They usually sit well, especially for tall women or small to average-sized men.

For large or small ears: AI ear measurement

Are your ears particularly large or small? Then let us find the size that fits you. Just send us photos of your ears.  Our artificial intelligence then determines which earplugs suit you the best. Perfect for small or average-sized women or tall men. The right fit for a better night: book our AI ear measurement now.

Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Our Earplugs for Sleeping

No. The 2-lamellae silicone fills your ear canal completely and moves with you as you shift position unlike foam plugs that slowly decompress and work their way out. The tab is just there to remove them in the morning.

Yes. Life+ is made from hypoallergenic silicone — BPA-free, PVC-free, latex-free, and soft enough that there’s no pressure buildup against the canal wall overnight. Rinse with warm water after each use and they stay hygienic for all 100 uses.

Yes, and that is by design. Life+ takes 24 dB off the room rather than sealing it out. Snoring and traffic drop to a murmur, while an alarm clock or a smoke detector starts far louder than either and still comes through. It is a question of how loud those sounds are, not of the earplug letting some frequencies past.

Life+ is rated for 100 uses — roughly 3 months of nightly wear. The silicone won’t split or lose its shape; when the surface starts to feel slightly tacky, it’s time for a new pair. At 10p per use in the 10-pack, that’s less than a coffee a month for uninterrupted sleep.

Yes, snoring is exactly what Life+ is built for. Snoring sits close to your head, which is why it carries: it is a proximity problem more than a volume one. Taking 24 dB off the room, verified across 1,700 independent lab tests, drops it to a murmur. If you’re not sleeping better within 40 nights, we’ll refund you in full.

Push the clean earplugs gently into your ear canal while turning them slightly. They should close your ear canal completely but do not force them too deep. The tab allows you to easily remove them at any given time.

Nothing. You have 40 days to try them. If you’re not satisfied for any reason, we refund you in full. No questions, no forms, no back and forth. Over 1 million customers worldwide and +3,500 verified reviews speak for themselves. But you don’t have to take our word for it.

User manual

What does 24 dB of sound reduction actually feel like?

BOLLSEN earplugs reduce sound by an average of 24 decibels, offering reliable comfort in noisy environments without disconnecting you from the world around you.
Here’s what that means in real life:
  • Sounds like a fridge, ticking clock, or quiet street traffic fade into the background.
  • Normal household noise such as distant conversation, light traffic, or a TV in another room becomes softer and less distracting.
  • Louder sounds such as barking dogs or passing cars are cushioned, helping you enjoy a calmer environment for rest.
Note: Noise from sources like snoring varies widely in volume. Life+ ear plugs help reduce the impact of such sounds, although results depend on the fit and the level of noise.

Great soundproofing

I bought these for sleeping to block out my partner snoring, and they do block a lot more than normal foam plugs. However, I have narrow ear canals and can’t quite get these to sit flush. So they protrude too much and the pillow pushes them into my ear making them a little uncomfortable. Would be great if a narrower or smaller design was available at some stage.

Best purchase

These are excellent, I stay twice a year with my best friend, only down side she snores really loud, these are amazing! Never thought I could block the snore out! Recommend these highly!!!!

Excellent for flying

I’ve suffered from sinusitis for nearly 8 weeks which affected my ears so was worried about flying but am happy to say these earplugs were great. Took a couple of tries to put them in but once there they were comfortable and I had no problems at all while flying, they also cut down the noise while still allowing me to have a conversation. Would highly recommend them.

Best Every -- HAPPY HAPPY Sleeper

Great value for money, fast delivery, well packaged. Now able to sleep well every night. My Wife snores like a Lion which has prevented me sleeping for years. First night that I used my New Bollsen Ear Plugs my life changed. Wake up refreshed after a great nights sleep. Only thing I would have asked is to have the instruction card ( not that I needed one ) in an English version rather than German. Zzzzzzzzzzzz

Good for work

The earplugs are well suited for focused work and studying.
When sleeping they don't press, but they filter out too much noise and I can no longer hear my alarm.
For people like me who sleep very deeply, they're unfortunately not suitable for that.

Bollsen hearing protection perfect!

I ordered the Bollsen earplugs because my husband snores so loudly that the walls shake. I happened to come across the Bollsen company on the internet. Placed the first order. The plugs arrived very quickly and I have to say that I was really enthusiastic from the start! They are soft, easy to insert, and fit perfectly to the ear! And what can I say: QUIET!!!! These plugs are really worth every cent! They can also be used for a long time! Top quality!
From me, 10 out of 10 points for friendly communication with the company and the quality of the earplugs!

Helps!

I was a bit skeptical, but I decided to buy it anyway.
They are really very comfortable to wear, you feel them much less than the classic earplugs, handling is simple.
However, it is not a bargain.

Hilft!

How many decibels do these block out? My husband is an extremely loud snorer!

Anna ·

Answer from BOLLSEN

Hello,
Thank you for your question! Our Life+ earplugs are designed for exactly this kind of situation: helping make a partner’s snoring quieter so you can enjoy a more peaceful night.
They offer noise reduction rated at 24 dB SNR and are made from soft silicone, with a low-profile fit that’s comfortable for sleeping on your side.
I hope they help you both enjoy more restful nights!
Kind regards,

Would these block out my neigbours barking dog?

Lee S. ·

Answer from BOLLSEN

Hello,
Thank you for your question!
Our Life+ earplugs would be a good option to try for reducing the sound of your neighbour’s barking dog, particularly when you’re trying to sleep or relax.
Life+ has a certified noise reduction rating of 24 dB SNR. This means it can make surrounding noise less intrusive, although the amount of barking you still hear will depend on how loud and close the dog is and how well the earplugs fit.
They’re made from soft, hypoallergenic silicone, with a low-profile design intended to sit comfortably when sleeping on your side. They’re also washable and reusable, making them practical for regular night-time use.
A good seal makes a real difference to performance. If you’re concerned about sizing, our optional AR-KI photo-based measurement service can help with a more individual fit.
Your purchase is covered by our 40-day satisfaction guarantee, including opened and used earplugs. That gives you the opportunity to try them at home with the actual noise you’re dealing with. If you’re not happy with the result, let us know within 40 days of purchase and we’ll help with the return and refund.
I hope they can help make your evenings and nights more peaceful!
Kind regards,

Are any of your ear plugs more suitable than others in your range for side sleepers

Carolyn ·

Answer from BOLLSEN

Hi,

Thank you for your question.

For side sleepers, the most suitable option in our range is our Life+ earplugs, which are specially designed for comfortable use while sleeping, including when sleeping on your side.

For an even better and more personalised fit, we also recommend Life+ earplugs with our AR KI TECH online ear measurement service, which uses photos of your ears to determine the most suitable size for you.

Kind regards

Are these disposable ear plugs or can you wear them for ever?

Michael ·

Answer from BOLLSEN

Hello,

Thank you very much for your question.

Our earplugs are reusable and are not designed to be thrown away after a single use. They are made from soft, durable silicone and can generally be used long time when cleaned, stored, and handled correctly.

However, they are not intended to last forever. For the best comfort, hygiene, and noise-reduction performance, we recommend replacing them if the silicone becomes damaged, torn, permanently deformed, unusually hard, difficult to clean, or no longer creates a secure seal in the ear. Based on our internal testing and customer feedback, we recommend replacing the earplugs after approximately 100 uses to maintain optimal comfort, hygiene, and noise-reduction performance.

To help extend their lifespan, please clean them gently with mild soap and lukewarm water, allow them to dry completely, and store them safely in their case between uses.

With proper care, they can provide reliable protection and comfort for a long time.

Best regards,
