Are earplugs even allowed when riding?

Yes. In the UK, plain hearing protection is legal to wear while riding. If you tour abroad it is worth a quick check: France’s 2015 law is often misread as an earplug ban, but it prohibits devices that emit sound into the ear, such as earphones and hands-free kits, and does not cover passive earplugs. Will I still hear my engine, intercom, and traffic?

I have found that they are no better than the other ear plugs I was using before. Fitting them initially seemed easier than my other ear plugs, but this proved to be short lived. I have had limited success getting them to stay in the correct place in my ears. A lot of the time, they stick to my finger after insertion, resulting in their coming loose again. When they are properly in place, they certainly are comfortable and do what they’re supposed to do. Overall, though, they are not sufficiently better than my other ear plugs to justify the extra expense so, they will be returned if I’m still within the guarantee period.

All our earplugs are made of soft medical silicone, a high-quality material designed to be durable, comfortable and reusable.

The earplugs do not have a specific expiry date. Thanks to the quality of the material, they can be used many times. Based on our internal tests and feedback from many users, we generally recommend around 100 uses per pair of earplugs.

After that, it depends a lot on how they have been used, cleaned and stored. Over time, the silicone can gradually lose some of its firmness and comfort, which can also slightly reduce the effectiveness of the noise isolation.

For this reason, we recommend replacing the earplugs after around 100 uses to maintain optimal comfort and performance.
