Total ear protection when swimmingI have struggled for years when swimming, always getting water in my right ear, that seems to take an age to either come out or dry up. After sending photos of my ears to Bollsen, I was a little sceptical as to whether these would work. I can confirm they do, 100% watertight. No water in my ears at all. Brilliant. So far so goodI suffer ear infections every time I get water in my ears at swimming. I’ve tried a lot of cheaper war plugs but find they are uncomfortable or pop out after an amount of time. I found this plugs to be very comfortable and fit snug without being in comfy. I wouldn’t want to test the seal doing front crawl but found them very effective swimming with my splashy kids. I would recommend.

Very GoodDon’t be put off by how small they are, these ear plugs work exceptionally well. Since surgery many years ago, I have struggled to keep my ears dry in the shower and whilst swimming. I have tested daily in the shower and am more confident of swimming this summer. I thoroughly recommended this product.

They really do fit well and keep the water out!I've tried a few ear plugs for swimming in the sea and have been disappointed. I ordered these ear plugs in the hope that they would be better than the others I've tried all of which let water in. I did my third swim with these yesterday in rather a rough sea and wasn't disappointed. They really do fit well and keep the water out. I have no hesitation in recommending these ear plugs for sea swimmers!

Bollsen watersafe+ very reliable - worth the money!I do a lot of swimming, in the pool, but mainly open water - I suffer a bit from `swimmers ear` and blocked sinus - I had been using the `playdo` types which you can mould into your ears, however I found them quite unreliable, regularly falling out. The bollsen watersafe+ are exceptional - can confirm no need even for a swim cap (to hold them in place) in 1hour+ open water swims with a bit of swell. They come in a little capsule which is handy for storage and keeping them clean!

Best investment!The customer service is stellar. I worked with Anika about the size of the earplugs. She told me the kids size would be a good fit. I've been swimming/aquatic fitness about 3 weeks now. They are a game changer for me. It blocks out all the noise except my music. Will they stay in during flip turns and dives?
Yes, that is what they are made for. The conical shape with two soft lamellae locks into the ear canal instead of sitting loosely in it, so the seal holds through dives, turns and open-water swell. The small tab lets you pull them out without tugging. If a plug keeps loosening, tell us and we exchange it for another size, free.
Will they keep my ears dry?
Yes, when they seal properly. The two lamellae close the ear canal, so water stays out while you swim, dive or shower. The right size is what makes the seal reliable. If your ears keep giving you trouble after swimming, see a GP or an audiologist.
Can my child use them?
For children under about 12 we recommend Kidz+, made for smaller ear canals and also made for swimming. Small adult ears often fit Kidz+ too. Not sure? Write to us before you order.
Can I still hear my coach?
Yes. Watersafe+ takes about 24 dB off the noise (SNR 24) instead of shutting sound out, so you still hear your coach from the poolside, whistles and people around you. What you lose is the underwater roar.
Can I wear them under a swim cap?
Yes. Watersafe+ sits low in the ear and does not stick out, so a swim cap does not press it in. How it feels still depends on your ears and how tight the cap is.
Which size will I get?
Your AI ear measurement is included: upload a photo of each ear before checkout, or later from the link we email you, and we send the size that fits you. If the size is off, we exchange it for free.
How do I put them in?
Place the earplug on your fingertip and gently twist it into the ear canal. It should seal without forcing it, and the tab stays outside for easy removal. Rinse with fresh water after the pool or the sea, let them dry and keep them in the case.
Why do I get dizzy after cold-water swims?
Cold water reaching the eardrum can upset the balance signals from your inner ear, which some swimmers feel as dizziness during or after a swim. Keeping water out of the ear canal removes that trigger, which is what a sealing earplug does. If the dizziness continues, or happens out of the water, see a GP.
Can I use them after ear surgery, with grommets or a perforated eardrum?
Please ask your GP or ENT specialist. Watersafe+ is a swimming earplug, not a medical device, so we cannot tell you what is safe for your ears. What it does: soft silicone seals the ear canal to keep water out, and a pair is washable and lasts about 100 swims.
