What does 24 dB of sound reduction actually feel like?

BOLLSEN earplugs reduce sound by an average of 24 decibels, offering reliable comfort in noisy environments without disconnecting you from the world around you.

Here’s what that means in real life:
  • Sounds like a fridge, ticking clock, or quiet street traffic fade into the background.
  • Normal household noise such as distant conversation, light traffic, or a TV in another room becomes softer and less distracting.
  • Louder sounds such as barking dogs or passing cars are cushioned, helping you enjoy a calmer environment for rest.
Note: Noise from sources like snoring varies widely in volume. Life+ ear plugs help reduce the impact of such sounds, although results depend on the fit and the level of noise.

Experience quieter nights with BOLLSEN Life+ earplugs for sleeping. They reduce unwanted ambient sound and are shaped for a comfortable, secure fit.

  • Reduces environmental noise for a calmer sleep setting.
  • You will still be able to hear your alarm.
  • Soft, flexible silicone for a comfortable fit in most ears.
  • 100x reusable
  • Suitable for side sleepers

Test Winner for Noise Reduction and Comfort

After over 1700 tests, independent laboratories in Germany have confirmed: that the Life+ filter technology reduces the surrounding noise to an average of 24 dB.  This consistent reduction creates a calmer environment for rest and relaxation.

Life+ earplugs help soften a wide range of sounds:
  • Household background noises such as ticking clocks or dripping taps;
  • Sounds from neighbours or street activity;
  • Construction and traffic noise;
  • Different noise levels in hotels or shared living spaces.

Comfort that Adapts to You

Made from high-quality medical-grade silicone, the earplugs move naturally with you during the night. The two-lamella design follows the ear canal’s natural shape and provides a secure, comfortable fit. Once inserted, they sit softly in the ear, making them easy to wear for hours at a time.

Sweet Dreams, even for side sleepers

Traditional earplugs for sleeping stick out of your ears. This makes lying on your side uncomfortable. That is why we have developed our Life+ earplugs: The conical-shaped hearing protection completely disappears in your ears, which allows you to get a good night’s sleep in your favourite position. A small tab is enough to remove the earplugs in the morning.

Hear What Matters

Do not worry: You will not miss out on important sounds. Life+ earplugs are designed to let through high-frequency sounds such as crying babies, fire alarms, and alarm clocks. Low tones, on the other hand, are dampened.

Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Our Earplugs for Sleeping

Yes. Life+ earplugs are designed for versatile, everyday use. They reduce surrounding noise to create a quieter environment at home, in the office, or while studying. This makes it easier to rest, concentrate, or simply enjoy some peace and quiet.

Life+ earplugs are designed to fit most people comfortably. The standard size works well for medium ear canals and provides a secure, flexible fit for everyday use. For ears that are smaller or larger than average, our AR KI TECH ear measurement can analyse ear photos to recommend the most suitable size. This helps ensure a comfortable and effective fit.

No – and that is intentional. After all, you want to hear your alarm clock or smoke detector in emergencies. That is why Life+ attenuates the surrounding noises to a pleasant 24 dB. That is how they optimally block out all the unnecessary noises.

Push the clean earplugs gently into your ear canal while turning them slightly. They should seal your ear canal completely but do not force them too deep. The tab allows you to easily remove them at any given time.

Pretty good

These are much cheaper than the electronic noise cancelling alternatives, and definitely better than off the shelf disposable ear plugs.
I have had problems with noisy neighbours banging around and coming home late, then I can't get back to sleep. It was making me feel quite miserable but these ear plugs have definitely helped to block out their noise. I have slept much better since using them.
They're fairly comfortable (I'm a side sleeper) and usually stay in all night if you get them in properly.
The only downsides I've found are as follows, hence the 4 not 5 star rating:
They are quite itchy. I find that sterilising with soap then hydrogen peroxide does help, then drying them properly. One ear seems itchier than the other so this might just be a sensitivity issue for me, might not affect everyone.
The case is useless though! Ridiculous shape - you can't get the blooming things out! I end up having to try and gouge them out then they ping across the room and I have to wash them again, grrr, just annoying. I'm going to find my own alternative but Bollsen please take note - amazed nobody else has mentioned this!

Finally, despite reassurances to the contrary, I do sleep through my alarm with these in! I use a Fitbit wrist alarm too and even that doesn't work. I suppose the upside of this is that I'm clearly getting a better night's sleep, before I'd usually be awake before the alarm went off. But just be warned that they are very effective noise blockers.

Sound sleep

Finally I've found earplugs that help me sleep soundly. Very comfortable and well fitted. Clever that I can hear higher pitched sounds like alarms but dull noise such as snoring or the cats heavy purring are blocked out. Great buy

Seem to be doing the job

I’ve tried numerous types before but these ones seem to be doing the job. They are lightweight so more comfortable within my ears . I’ve only had a slight awareness when lying on it in one ear . They are certainly the best ones I’ve ever tried.

The best nights sleep!

I moved to a new apartment (from a house) and was conscious of the potential noise. I purchased these ear plugs and it was the best thing I ever did! They are now a staple in my sleep routine 🙏🏼

Decent enough

Probably one of the better ear plugs, tried a few before but these were reasonable comfy. Only problem is, after about four nights of wear I developed ear pain. Easy to wash and insert.
